wa-740x410.png128 KB Like most online platforms, RacingRulesOfSailing.org is a daily target for unauthorized access attempts. While the sources of these attacks are often identifiable, what matters most is our obligation to protect the data entrusted to us — particularly event data accessed by officials and organizers.
To that end, we are introducing two-factor authentication (2FA). Starting now, any user with access to event data can voluntarily enable 2FA when they sign in. We encourage everyone to do so sooner rather than later — this is also a good opportunity to confirm that the mobile number on your account is current and able to receive verification codes.
Effective June 1, 2026, 2FA will be mandatory for all officials. Anyone with access to event data will be required to verify their identity with a confirmation code at sign-in.
We recognize this adds a step to your login process, and we appreciate your patience. Keeping your account — and the data it can access — secure is a responsibility we take seriously.
Thanks Paul .. it's just another example of how much time and effort you put into this site behind the scenes so that we can enjoy such a valuable resource!
Instead of always sending the code to BOTH phone text and email, how about allowing the user to select how it is sent .. with the default set to the previous selection?
Well, that was easy!
I signed out, and signed back in and didn't need to do it the second time.
