Rule 42 (kinetic) penalties while racing is a BIG topic. Knowing what body movements the judges are trained to observe, knowing how judges are trained to interact with the fleet, knowing penalty procedures, and interacting with judges on the water is critical to successful racing. This seminar is aimed at educating competitors, coaches and judges alike at judge positioning within the fleet, observation, procedure and kinetic specifics for each Olympic class. Following the presentation there will be a Q&A session.

In today's day and age, with basically free video streaming to the 4 corners and an HD video camera in everyone's pocket .. seems to me video-based training seminars should be much more available.

There is also a tendency to eat our own. There is a portion of our audience intent on proving how smart they are who will mercilessly attack any perceived mistake. Most can defend their position in a live presentation, but do not wish to do so via other media to a much larger audience. And most know their subject well enough, but don't have a well rehearsed presentation. So this fear of making a mistake preserved on video tape creates a lot of resistance for people who are for the most part volunteering to help others learn. And unfortunately I don't think the audience is going to change.
Finally! .. an area of expertise in which I can help others! LOL - Ang
