What Notices to Competitors Does

The Notices to Competitors feature lets officials create and publish official numbered notices to the fleet. Each notice is assigned a sequential number, given a title, and written using the built-in editor. Published notices appear on the Official Notice Board page and can be downloaded as PDFs. When a notice is published, all competitors with contact information on file are notified by email, SMS, and WhatsApp.

Enabling and Creating Notices

Enable Notices to Competitors by editing your event and selecting Notice to Competitors in Event Settings. Once enabled, a Notices link appears in the Event Panel under Communications. Click + Notice to create a new notice. The notice number is assigned automatically in sequence. Enter a title and write the content of the notice. You can attach documents such as updated sailing instructions, course diagrams, or other files relevant to the notice.

Publishing a Notice

A notice is a draft until you explicitly publish it. Set the notice status to Published to make it visible on the ONB and to trigger notifications to competitors. Once published, the notice appears immediately on the public Notice to Competitors page and the ONB. If you need to correct a published notice, edit it and republish — a new notification will be sent to competitors indicating that the notice has been updated.
